Trnava is a city in western Slovakia, serving as the administrative capital of both the District of Trnava and the wider Region of Trnava. The city sits on the Trnávka river at an elevation of 144 metres. Trnava is a major academic centre, home to the University of Trnava, the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, and the Pázmány Péter Catholic University Faculty of Theology.
The city territory includes the central urban area of Trnava itself and the outlying district of Modranka, which was once an independent village. Housing options are distributed across these distinct areas, ranging from the historic core of the city to the more suburban setting of Modranka.
