Meurthe-et-Moselle is a department of France located in the northeastern Grand Est region. It shares its northern border with the province of Luxembourg in Belgium, and is bounded by the French departments of Meuse, Moselle, Bas-Rhin, and Vosges.
Property in Meurthe-et-Moselle is generally cheap compared to the rest of France. Most of the housing stock in the department is concentrated in Nancy, which is by far the most expensive place to buy a home in the region. Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy holds the next largest share of the housing market, though homes there are much more affordable. Further north, the smaller industrial and border towns of Villerupt, Longwy, and Mont-Saint-Martin have smaller property markets, with prices that sit below the level of Nancy but remain higher than those in southern suburbs like Laxou and Jarville-la-Malgrange.
