Côte-d’Or is a department of France located in the eastern region of Bourgogne, Franche-Comté. It covers a landlocked area of over eight thousand square kilometres, sharing borders with seven other departments including Nièvre, Yonne, Aube, Haute-Marne, Haute-Saône, Jura, and Saône-et-Loire.
The local housing market is generally cheap compared to the rest of France. Most of the housing stock is concentrated in Dijon, which holds far more homes than any other municipality in the department. Chenôve also contains a significant portion of the local properties, while Beaune holds a smaller share. Property prices vary across these areas, with Fontaine-lès-Dijon standing out as the most expensive place to buy, followed by Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur. In contrast, Quetigny and Prenois offer much more affordable options, with prices sitting well below the average for the department.
