Styria is a federal state of Austria, situated in the south of the country. It shares international borders with the Slovenian regions of Pomurska, Podravska, and Koroška, alongside domestic borders with five other Austrian federal states, including Carinthia and Salzburg. The region is home to the Medical University of Graz.
Property buyers in Styria will find that housing is generally cheaper here than the Austrian national average. Graz holds far more of the housing stock than anywhere else in the region, with prices that sit slightly above the regional average. The remaining homes are scattered across much smaller markets. Among these, Seiersberg-Pirka is the most expensive location by a wide margin, with prices that far exceed those in Graz. In contrast, towns like Leoben, Deutschlandsberg, and Judenburg offer much more affordable options, with Judenburg standing out as one of the cheapest places to buy in the region.
