Guarda is an inland district of Portugal, situated in the mountainous eastern part of the country. It shares an international border with the Spanish provinces of Cáceres Province and Province of Salamanca, while bordering the Portuguese districts of Coimbra, Viseu, Castelo Branco, and Bragança.
Property in the Guarda district is cheap, costing under half the national average for Portugal. The housing stock is spread across several small municipalities rather than concentrated in one major city. Seia holds the largest share of the local housing market, closely followed by the district capital of Guarda. These two municipalities are also the most expensive areas to buy property in the region. In contrast, Gouveia and Sabugal offer a significant portion of the remaining homes at much lower prices, with Celorico da Beira and Trancoso trailing further behind in market size.
