Maresme is a coastal comarca of Catalonia, situated in the Barcelona Province of Spain. This narrow strip of land is defined by its position between the Mediterranean Sea and the coastal mountain range, bordering the comarques of Selva, Vallès Oriental, and Barcelonès.
The housing market in Maresme is slightly more expensive than the Spanish national average, though prices vary significantly between its coastal towns. Mataró holds far more of the region's housing stock than any other municipality, offering relatively affordable living compared to the regional average. Other major concentrations of housing are found in Pineda de Mar and Tordera, which also sit well below the average regional cost. In contrast, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres is by far the most expensive enclave in the comarca, with property prices that are more than double the regional average. Arenys de Mar represents a middle ground, with housing costs that closely align with the average for Maresme.
