Flevoland is a province of the Netherlands, bordered by the provinces of North Holland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Overijssel, and Friesland. This landlocked-looking territory actually sits beside the waters of the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer, which define much of its geography and boundaries.
The housing market is concentrated heavily in Almere, which holds far more of the province's homes than anywhere else, with prices sitting just above the regional average. Lelystad and Noordoostpolder contain most of the remaining properties, though Noordoostpolder represents a much cheaper option for buyers. The most expensive homes in the province are found in Zeewolde and Urk, even though these areas contain only a tiny sliver of the local housing stock. Overall, buying a home in Flevoland is slightly cheaper than the average for the Netherlands as a whole.
