The District of Dunajská Streda is an administrative district of Slovakia, situated within the western Region of Trnava. The territory covers over one thousand square kilometres of flat lowland terrain, bounded to the south by the Danube river which forms the national border with Hungary. It shares land borders with the Slovak districts of Senec, Galanta, and Komárno, as well as the Hungarian districts of Mosonmagyaróvár and Győr.
The local housing market is slightly cheaper than the Slovak national average, though prices vary significantly between municipalities. The town of Dunajská Streda holds far more of the housing stock than anywhere else in the district, offering homes at prices below the regional average. In contrast, the smaller western towns closer to the capital, such as Šamorín and Hviezdoslavov, hold much smaller shares of the market but are significantly more expensive. The highest prices are found in Nový Život, while the most affordable housing is concentrated in the eastern town of Veľký Meder and smaller villages like Dolný Bar.
