The District of Nitra is an administrative district of Slovakia, located within the larger Region of Nitra. Spanning 871 square kilometres, the district is characterised by a landscape that rises to its highest point at the peak of Žibrica. It shares borders with several neighbouring districts, including Levice District, Šaľa District, Nové Zámky District, Zlaté Moravce District, Topoľčany District, and Hlohovec District.
The housing market is slightly cheaper than the Slovakian national average, with the vast majority of the homes concentrated in the city of Nitra itself. No other town or village in the district holds more than a small fraction of the remaining housing. Prices vary significantly across these smaller settlements. Lužianky is by far the most expensive locality in the district, with prices that are several times higher than those in the main city of Nitra. Conversely, more affordable options can be found in outlying villages such as Vráble and Lúčnica nad Žitavou, where homes cost considerably less than the regional average.
