Tarn-et-Garonne is a department of France situated within the southern region of Occitania. The terrain of this inland territory is defined by its highest point of Pech Maurel and its borders with neighbouring departments, which include Haute-Garonne, Tarn, and Lot-et-Garonne.
The local housing market is generally cheap compared to the rest of France. Most of the housing stock in Tarn-et-Garonne is concentrated in Montauban, which is far larger than any other town in the department and has prices slightly above the regional average. By comparison, other communities like Castelsarrasin, Moissac, and Caussade hold very small shares of the market and are much more affordable. Pockets of higher prices exist in smaller, rural communes such as Molières and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, where properties cost more than in the main urban centres.
