Lot is a department of France located in the southern region of Occitania. This landlocked administrative territory covers over five thousand square kilometres, sharing its borders with the departments of Aveyron, Cantal, Corrèze, Dordogne, Tarn-et-Garonne, and Lot-et-Garonne.
Property in Lot is generally cheap compared to the rest of France. The regional housing stock is highly dispersed, with the prefecture of Cahors holding the largest share of homes, far more than any other town. The remaining housing is scattered in small volumes across smaller settlements like Pomarède, Figeac, and Gourdon. Prices vary significantly between these communities. While Cahors, Figeac, and Gourdon sit slightly below the regional average, the small commune of Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc is the most expensive place to buy, with prices far higher than those found in the main towns. Conversely, Luzech offers some of the most affordable housing in the department.
