Gard is a department of France located in the southern Occitania region. Its terrain rises from a Mediterranean coastline in the south to the high peak of Mont Aigoual in the Cévennes mountains. The department shares borders with the departments of Ardèche, Aveyron, Bouches-du-Rhône, Hérault, Lozère, and Vaucluse.
