Aveyron is a department of France situated in the northeast of the Occitania region. This inland territory covers a large area of southern France, sharing its borders with seven other departments including Lot, Cantal, and Gard.

The local housing stock is highly dispersed among small communities, with the largest concentrations found in Millau and the department capital of Rodez.
