Property in Yvelines is generally expensive, with average sale prices sitting well above the national average for France. The housing stock is distributed across several key towns rather than being concentrated in a single major city. Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Versailles hold the largest shares of the local housing market, and both are highly desirable, expensive locations with prices far exceeding the regional average. Chatou is similarly costly. In contrast, home buyers find much cheaper options in industrial and working towns like Mantes-la-Jolie, where prices are about half of what is typical for the department, while Poissy and Sartrouville offer mid-range alternatives.
