Marne is a department of France located within the northeastern Grand Est region. It shares borders with several other departments, including Ardennes to the north, Meuse to the east, Haute-Marne and Aube to the south, and Seine-et-Marne and Aisne to the west.
The local housing market is generally cheaper than the French average, though prices vary significantly between municipalities. Most of the department's housing is concentrated in Reims, which is also one of the more expensive locations in the area. By contrast, the administrative centre of Châlons-en-Champagne and the town of Épernay hold much smaller shares of the housing stock and are more affordable. The highest prices are found in smaller communes near Reims, such as Villers-aux-Nœuds and Ormes, while outlying towns like Vitry-le-François and Montmirail offer the least expensive properties in the department.
