Spittal an der Drau District is an administrative district of Austria, situated in the western part of the Carinthia region. This large mountainous territory shares borders with several other districts, including Hermagor District, Lienz District, and Zell am See District.
The housing market across the district is priced very closely to the Austrian national average. Spittal an der Drau holds the largest share of the housing stock, offering relatively affordable homes compared to the rest of the region. By contrast, the lakeside communities of Millstatt am See and Seeboden am Millstätter See contain a significant portion of the local housing and are by far the most expensive places to buy. Further inland, the resort town of Bad Kleinkirchheim and the smaller municipality of Lendorf provide more moderately priced alternatives, with values falling well below those found along the lakefronts.
