The Aosta Valley is an autonomous region with a special statute located in the northwest of Italy. It is a mountainous territory that shares international borders with the French departments of Haute-Savoie and Savoie, as well as the Swiss Canton of Valais. Domestically, the region is bordered by the Italian province of Piedmont, including the provinces of Turin, Biella, and Vercelli.
Property prices in the Aosta Valley are slightly higher than the average for Italy. The housing stock is distributed across several alpine towns, with Courmayeur holding the largest share of homes in the region. Courmayeur is also one of the most expensive locations, alongside Valtournenche, where property prices are more than three times the regional average. In contrast, the regional capital of Aosta offers more moderately priced housing, while towns like Saint-Vincent and Châtillon are much cheaper, with prices well below the average for the region.
