Santiago is a comarca of Galicia, located in the A Coruña province of northwestern Spain. The region spans an inland area of 689 square kilometres, situated within the hilly terrain of the Galician countryside. As an administrative division, it serves to group several municipalities around a central urban hub.
The vast majority of the housing stock in the region is concentrated in Santiago de Compostela, which is also the most expensive of the main residential areas. Outside this central city, homes are much more sparsely distributed. Ames and Teo, A Coruña hold most of what remains, offering more affordable alternatives. While the region is generally cheaper than the Spanish national average, prices vary significantly between the municipalities. Boqueixón stands out as the costliest enclave for property, whereas Val do Dubra is by far the cheapest, with prices falling to a small fraction of those found in the regional capital.
