Badajoz is a province of Spain located in the western part of the country, within the autonomous community of Extremadura. It is the largest province in Spain by area, characterised by a vast terrain that rises to its highest point at Cerro de Tentudía. The province shares an international border with Portugal, neighbouring the districts of Évora and Portalegre, while also bordering the Spanish provinces of Cáceres, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Seville, and Huelva.

The housing stock is heavily concentrated in the city of Badajoz, which holds far more of the market than any other municipality and stands as the most expensive place to buy in the region. Mérida holds the next largest share of housing, followed by Almendralejo and Don Benito. Prices drop significantly outside the main city of Badajoz, with Almendralejo and Montijo offering much more affordable options for buyers.
