The Community of Madrid is an autonomous community of Spain, situated in the centre of the country. The region is bordered by Castile-La Mancha and Castile and León, with its terrain rising to its highest point at Peñalara. The vast majority of the region's housing stock is concentrated in the city of Madrid itself, with other towns like Móstoles and Fuenlabrada holding only a tiny fraction of the market. The Community of Madrid is a expensive part of Spain, with average sale prices sitting well above the national average. Within the region, prices vary dramatically. While Madrid is relatively expensive, Pozuelo de Alarcón is by far the dearest municipality, with prices doubling the regional average. In contrast, working towns such as Móstoles, Fuenlabrada, and Alcalá de Henares offer much cheaper housing, costing less than half of the regional average.
