Alt Penedès is an inland comarca of Catalonia, situated within the Barcelona Province of Spain. The region covers an area of 593 square kilometres and shares its borders with the neighbouring comarques of Anoia, Baix Llobregat, Garraf, Baix Penedès, and Alt Camp.
Vilafranca del Penedès holds far more of the housing stock than any other municipality in the region, followed a long way behind by Castellet i la Gornal and Gelida. Home buyers will find that Alt Penedès is generally a cheap part of Spain, though prices vary significantly between its towns. Gelida and Olèrdola are the most expensive places to buy property in the comarca, with prices there rising well above the regional average. In contrast, the main hub of Vilafranca del Penedès, alongside Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Mediona, offers much more affordable housing.
