The Province of Salamanca is an administrative province of Spain, located in the western part of the Castile and León region. It shares an international border with Portugal, specifically the districts of Bragança and Guarda, and is bordered by several other Spanish provinces, including Zamora Province and Cáceres Province. The terrain rises to its highest point at Canchal de la Ceja and is shaped by the valleys of the Douro River, the Tormes, and the Alagón River.
Property buyers find the Province of Salamanca cheap compared to the rest of Spain. Most of the housing stock is concentrated in the city of Salamanca itself, where prices sit above the regional average. Outside the capital, the market is highly fragmented. Santa Marta de Tormes and Villamayor represent some of the more expensive local options, with Villamayor commanding particularly high prices. By contrast, the smaller towns of Ciudad Rodrigo and Béjar offer much more affordable housing, with prices falling far below the average for the province.
