Axarquía is a comarca of Andalusia, located in the Malaga region of southern Spain. This coastal and mountainous territory borders the Antequera Comarca to its west. The region spans over one thousand square kilometres, stretching from the Mediterranean coastline up into the rugged terrain of the interior.
The housing market in Axarquía is generally expensive compared to the Spanish average, though prices vary significantly between its towns. Vélez-Málaga holds far more of the housing stock than anywhere else in the region, offering relatively affordable homes. Torrox and Rincón de la Victoria also contain substantial portions of the local market. Torrox is by far the most expensive town in the comarca, with prices that dwarf those of its neighbours. In contrast, Nerja and Cómpeta hold much smaller shares of the region's housing, while inland municipalities like Colmenar are the cheapest places to buy.
