Overijssel is a province of the Netherlands located in the eastern part of the country. The terrain rises to its highest point at Tankenberg and shares borders with the German states of Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as the Dutch provinces of Gelderland, Flevoland, Friesland, and Drenthe.
The province is generally cheaper for property than the Dutch average. Enschede and the provincial capital of Zwolle hold the largest shares of the housing stock. Zwolle is one of the more expensive cities in the region, with prices sitting well above the provincial average, whereas Enschede and Hengelo offer more affordable options. Deventer sits in the middle of the regional market, while Steenwijkerland, located in the northwest, stands out as the most expensive area in the province for home buyers.
