Frisia is a province of the Netherlands, situated in the northern part of the country. This coastal region is bordered by the provinces of North Holland, Groningen, Drenthe, Flevoland, and Overijssel. Its physical geography is defined by its extensive coastline and low-lying terrain, with the sand dune of Vuurboetsduin marking the highest point in the province.

Most of the residential properties are concentrated in Leeuwarden, which holds far more of the housing stock than any other municipality, with prices sitting below the regional average. Súdwest-Fryslân and Smallingerland also contain notable shares of the local housing. The most expensive properties in the province are found in De Fryske Marren, where prices are significantly higher than the provincial average, followed by Súdwest-Fryslân and Heerenveen. By contrast, more affordable homes are located in Waadhoeke and Harlingen.
