Vas is a county of Hungary located in the Western Transdanubia region. It sits along the western edge of the country, sharing an international border with Burgenland in Austria and Pomurska in Slovenia. Domestically, the county borders Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Veszprém County, and Zala County.
The housing market in Vas is generally cheaper than the Hungarian average. Most of the county's housing stock is concentrated in Szombathely, which holds far more homes than any other municipality. Prices vary notably between the towns. Vasvár is the most expensive local market, followed closely by the resort town of Bük, Sárvár, and the major hub of Szombathely. By contrast, Jánosháza is the cheapest town in the county, with home prices sitting at less than half of what they cost in Vasvár.
