Somogy is a county of Hungary located in the Southern Transdanubia region. It shares a border with Zala County, Veszprém County, Fejér County, Tolna County, and Baranya County. The territory is defined by its southern border with Croatia and its northern shoreline along Lake Balaton.
The county is slightly more expensive for property than the Hungarian average, though prices vary widely between the northern lakeside and the interior. Most of the housing stock concentrates in Siófok on the Balaton coast and in Kaposvár, the inland county seat. Siófok is the largest market and is significantly more expensive than Kaposvár, where homes cost about a third of what they do in the lakeside towns. Balatonszemes and Balatonboglár also hold notable shares of the local housing market, with Balatonboglár standing out as the most expensive location in the region.
