Karviná District is an administrative district of Czechia, situated in the eastern part of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It shares a border with Ostrava-City District, Opava District, Frýdek-Místek District, and Cieszyn County, which lies across the national border in Poland. The district covers a relatively compact area of low-lying terrain in the north-eastern corner of the country.
Property in Karviná District is cheap compared to the rest of Czechia, with average sale prices sitting at less than half the national average. Most of the housing stock is concentrated in the cities of Havířov and Karviná, which together hold the majority of the local market. While Havířov is the largest housing market, the town of Karviná itself is significantly cheaper. Buyers face much higher prices in the smaller towns of Petřvald, Rychvald, and Bohumín, where homes cost more than double the prices found in the main district town of Karviná.
