The South Bohemian Region is an administrative region located in the south of Czechia. It shares international borders with Bavaria in Germany, as well as Upper Austria and Lower Austria. Internally, the region borders the Plzeň Region, the Central Bohemian Region, the Vysočina Region, and the South Moravian Region.
Most of the housing in the region is concentrated in České Budějovice, which has far more homes than any other municipality. While the South Bohemian Region is generally cheaper for property than the Czech average, prices vary significantly between its towns. The regional capital of České Budějovice, alongside Tábor and Písek, represents a more expensive tier of urban housing. The highest property prices are found in the lakeside resort towns of Lipno nad Vltavou and Horní Planá, which are significantly dearer than the regional average. Conversely, industrial Strakonice offers much cheaper housing, with prices falling well below those found in the rest of the region.
