Zwickau District is a rural administrative district located in the western part of the Free State of Saxony, Germany. Covering an area of 949 square kilometres, the district shares borders with several other Saxon regions, including the city of Chemnitz, the Erzgebirgskreis, Mittelsachsen District, Vogtlandkreis, and the Thuringian districts of Greiz and Altenburger Land.
The local housing market is highly affordable, with average sale prices sitting at less than half of the national average for Germany. Most of the housing stock is concentrated in the city of Zwickau itself, which holds far more homes than any other municipality in the district. Outside of the main city, residential properties are distributed across smaller towns such as Limbach-Oberfrohna, Meerane, and Glauchau. Prices vary notably between these secondary towns. While Limbach-Oberfrohna and Meerane offer some of the most inexpensive housing in the region, buyers will find much higher prices in Crimmitschau and especially in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, which stands out as the most expensive town in the district.
