Mittelsachsen District is a rural district situated in the central part of the Saxony region of Germany. The district covers a varied terrain that rises toward the south, bordering several other Saxon districts including Leipzig District, Meissen District, and Erzgebirgskreis, as well as the city of Chemnitz.
The housing market in Mittelsachsen District is slightly cheaper than the average for Germany. Freiberg holds the largest share of the housing stock, far more than any other municipality, yet its properties are among the cheapest in the district. Döbeln and Rossau also contain significant portions of the local housing, with prices in Döbeln sitting closer to the regional average. In contrast, Brand-Erbisdorf is the most expensive town in the district, with property prices that stand out as the highest in the area, well ahead of the more affordable homes found in Hainichen and Frankenberg.
