Bautzen District is a rural district in the east of Saxony, a region of Germany. It shares a southern border with the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic, with the terrain rising to its highest point at the peak of Valtenberg.
The housing market here is cheap compared to the German average, though prices vary significantly between the main towns. Hoyerswerda holds the largest share of the district's housing, followed closely by Bautzen and Radeberg. Radeberg is by far the most expensive town to buy property in, with prices sitting well above the regional average. Ottendorf-Okrilla is also highly priced, whereas Lauta offers much cheaper housing, with prices falling far below those found in the rest of the district.
