Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a federated state of Germany situated in the north-east of the country. The region is defined by its long coastline along the Baltic Sea and shares land borders with Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship of Poland.
