The Lake Constance district is a rural district in the south of Germany, situated within the region of Baden-Württemberg. It sits along the northern shoreline of Lake Constance, bordering the districts of Konstanz, Sigmaringen, Ravensburg, and Lindau. The terrain rises from the lake shore to an average elevation of nearly five hundred metres.
Property in the Lake Constance district is generally dearer than the German average, though prices vary significantly between its towns. Friedrichshafen holds the largest share of the housing stock, followed closely by Überlingen, with Friedrichshafen being considerably more affordable than the regional average. By contrast, the smaller lakeside towns of Meersburg and Langenargen are the most expensive places to buy in the district, with prices well above those of the larger hubs. Tettnang and Markdorf hold smaller shares of the market, with Markdorf commanding much higher prices than its neighbour Tettnang.
