Sagunto is a coastal city in eastern Spain, situated within the Camp de Morvedre region of the Valencian Community, where it serves as the regional capital. The municipality lies along the Mediterranean Sea, with its urban territory rising from the coast to an elevation of about 49 metres. The local economy and identity are anchored by its coastal position and its administrative role as the head of the surrounding comarca.
The vast majority of the city's housing is concentrated in Puerto de Sagunto, which holds almost all of the local residential market. Property prices in Sagunto are generally cheap compared to the Spanish average, though costs vary dramatically between its distinct neighbourhoods. While the dense coastal district of Puerto de Sagunto represents the city-wide average, the exclusive inland enclave of Urbanización Los Monasterios is by far the most expensive area, with prices many times higher than those found anywhere else in the municipality. By contrast, the smaller district of Plaça Pedres Blaves offers some of the most affordable housing in the city.
