The Arrondissement of Nivelles is an administrative district located in the Walloon Brabant province of Wallonia, in central Belgium. It covers a gently rolling landscape of some 1,091 square kilometres, situated just south of the Brussels-Capital Region.
The arrondissement is a particularly expensive part of Belgium, with property prices sitting well above the national average. Waterloo holds the largest portion of the housing stock and is notably expensive, while nearby Lasne and Grez-Doiceau are even dearer, commanding some of the highest prices in the region. In contrast, Braine-l'Alleud and Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve offer more moderately priced housing. The administrative capital of Nivelles and the town of Wavre both hold significant shares of the local market at prices below the regional average, while Tubize stands out as the cheapest of the main towns.
