The Arrondissement of Aalst is an administrative division in the East Flanders province of Belgium. Situated in the Flemish Region, this inland territory covers 469 square kilometres of low-lying terrain, bordering the neighbouring arrondissements of Dendermonde, Ghent, and Oudenaarde.
The housing market is concentrated heavily in the city of Aalst, which holds far more of the housing stock than any other municipality. Geraardsbergen and Ninove also contain significant shares of the local market, while smaller towns like Denderleeuw and Zottegem account for much less. Property prices across the arrondissement are generally cheap compared to the Belgian average. Within the region itself, the most expensive homes are found in Haaltert, Geraardsbergen, and Herzele, while Denderleeuw offers the most affordable housing.
