České Budějovice is a statutory city in the south of the Czech Republic, serving as the capital of the South Bohemian Region and the České Budějovice District. The city lies at an elevation of 395 metres, situated at the confluence of the Vltava and Malše rivers. As a regional administrative centre, its economy and local infrastructure are supported by its role as a regional capital, and it is served by the nearby České Budějovice Airport.
The local housing market is slightly cheaper than the average for the Czech Republic. Most of the city's housing is concentrated in České Budějovice 2 and České Budějovice 3, which together hold the vast majority of the residential stock and offer prices below the city average. In contrast, the historic centre of České Budějovice 1 holds very little of the housing stock but is by far the most expensive district, with prices nearly double the city average. České Budějovice 7 also stands out as a premium residential area, commanding prices well above those found in the high-density districts.
