Landkreis Karlsruhe is a rural district in the Baden-Württemberg region of southwestern Germany. Covering an area of over one thousand square kilometres, the district surrounds the independent city of Karlsruhe, which it does not administratively include. It shares borders with several neighbouring districts, including Rastatt, Enz, and Germersheim.
The local housing market is priced very closely to the German national average. Bretten holds the largest share of the district's housing, followed by Bruchsal and Graben-Neudorf. Home buyers will find that prices vary significantly between these main towns. Graben-Neudorf is the most expensive of the major residential areas, with prices sitting well above the district average. By contrast, Bretten and Bruchsal offer more typical regional prices, while Oberderdingen and Waghäusel are among the more affordable locations in the district.
