Esslingen District is a rural district in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. Located in the southwest of the country, it shares borders with the city of Stuttgart, as well as the districts of Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Reutlingen, and Böblingen.
The local housing market is slightly cheaper than the German national average. Esslingen am Neckar holds the largest share of the housing stock, followed by Kirchheim unter Teck and Filderstadt. Prices vary significantly between these areas. Leinfelden-Echterdingen is the most expensive town in the district, with prices sitting well above those in Nürtingen and Neuhausen auf den Fildern. By contrast, the largest housing market of Esslingen am Neckar is much more affordable, with prices falling below those found in Kirchheim unter Teck and Wernau.
